“Songs for Weld County” is an online concert series that begins this week to raise awareness for the Weld Recovers Fund. Taking place on Facebook in a series of live streams, 12 Weld County musicians have been commissioned by a grant from the Bohemian Foundation. Each artist will play a 30-minute set of songs about community, hope, and resilience at different times during the week while quarantine persists.

Tim Coons is the series organizer and works at the Weld Community Foundation as Communications Officer. He stated, “Over the past few weeks I’ve watched musicians play live on Facebook. It’s a real community building experience and feels like a virtual front porch. To ask local musicians to sing and help their community with this fundraiser, then be able to pay them through a Bohemian Foundation grant, it felt like a win/win/win.”
The Weld Recovers Fund is to aid nonprofits serving those at risk during the COVID-19 crisis and is a joint effort between The United Way of Weld County and the Weld Community Foundation. The fund was created middle of March and has allocated $87,000 to nonprofits thus far.
