2026 Scholarships Awarded to Windsor and Severance Students

The Weld Community Foundation proudly awarded over $114,000 to students in the Weld Re-4 School District during the 2026 Scholarship Season!

Several of the scholarships are designated specifically to Re-4 students.

One of those scholarships is the Windsor-Severance Community Funds Scholarship. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to students from the district who display student leadership, community service, and a commitment to academics. In 2026, there were two recipients.

Another local scholarship, the Dorothy and Harold Brokering Family Scholarship, is designated for a student from Windsor High School who demonstrates love of learning, strong work ethic, and a focus on community, curiosity, and creative ways to better our world.

Though students do not have to attend an Re-4 school for the Kristopher G. Mansfield Memorial Scholarship, the scholarship has traditionally been awarded to a Windsor High School graduate. This award is intended for high school seniors who plan to attend a trade school or two year community college and honors the life of Kristopher G. Mansfield, a Senior Airman with the 460th Space Communications Squadron who was killed by a drunk driver shortly after returning from an assignment in Iraq in 2004.

With deep historic ties to the community, the Windsor Harvest Festival Scholarship rewards Weld RE-4 students who have contributed an exceptional number of community service hours during their high school career. The pool for this scholarship was extremely competitive this year with all candidates completing at least 100 hours of service.

The Wilbert R. Wiedeman Scholarship for Windsor High School honors students from Windsor High School between the 50th and 95th percentile of their class who show significant investment in their school and community. This year, in addition to the $80,000 overall scholarships, the Foundation added $1,500 scholarships for all students who were selected as finalists.

Awards were presented to students at the Weld Community Foundation’s annual scholarship reception on May 4, 2026. The full gallery of pictures is available on this website
